WPT Announce New “Fathers and Sons” Tournament

Televisions most famous poker franchise will be bringing a new format poker tournament to our screens called “Fathers and Sons” to be filmed on set at the Foxwoods Casino Resort in Mashantucket. This tournament will feature some of pokers greatest Father and Son duo’s, notably poker legend Doyle Brunson with his son Todd Brunson a famous high stakes poker player.
This tournament will see the famous Fathers and Sons team up as a tag-team, the sons playing but at any point of the game or even hand can consult or bring in their fathers to take over the challenge. Each team will start off with $250,000 and the winners will see the Father and Son in a heads-up match for the winner takes all prize of a $25,000 seat in the WPT World Championship in April at the Bellagio, Las Vegas.
Other teams playing will include Barry Greenstein and son Joe Sebok, John Stolzmann, a World Poker Open champion with his fire-fighter father Steve Stolzmann, Cardplayer magazine publisher Barry Shulman with his son Jeff Shulmann. WPT host Vince Van Patten will be taking his seat at the table supported by his father Dick Van Patten.
This WPT special event will air on the Travel Channel on June 17th 2007.
